Suzie came to us as an adult dog. She had been kept in conditions that were not condusive of being very socialized and I was more than happy to have her come to live with us. I saw a dog that was shy, but inwardly wanted love, tummy scratches, and attention. She absolutely loves being in the house and learned very quickly the routine of going in and out of the house to go potty. She is a wonderful mother and has her puppies without so much as a whimper.
I was not familiar with her coloring when I first saw her and have since learned that this color is often mis-identified when they are puppies (often being called orange or orange/sable). That is another topic I want to have a page on and start collecting pictures of puppies that turn a very different color as adults. In horses this mistake often happens but they let you correct it for a small fee. I think that if puppies are permanently identified with a microchip that if you mis-identify a puppies color when it first goes to a new home you should be allowed to correct the color as an adult. What do you think?
